Diljit-Shehnaaz-Sonam Starrer Honsla Rakh Shatters All-Time Opening Day Collection Record

Released on the day of Dussehra, on 15 October 2021, Diljit Dosanjh starrer Honsla Rakh has already started shattering records. It has become the highest ever opener in the history of the Punjabi film industry. 

Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, Sonam Bajwa and Shinda Grewal, Honsla Rakh has broken the All-time record for the highest collection on the first day of the movie’s release. On 15 October, the film grossed a total of Rs, 5.05 Crore worldwide, making it the biggest ever opening day collection for any Punjabi movie.

In addition to becoming the highest ever opening day grosser worldwide in the Punjabi Film Industry, it has also become the highest ever Punjabi opener in India. The previous record was also held by Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Shadaa’, which grossed a total of Rs. 2.43 Crore on the first day of its release in India. Honsla Rakh has made a collection of Rs. 2.55 Crore, surpassing Shadaa to become the highest ever opening collection for a Punjabi movie in India.

In the state of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi alone, the film shattered records by a huge margin. It grossed a total of Rs. 66 Lakhs, which is around 90% more than any other Punjabi movie’s opening day collection ever in those areas.

Diljit Dosanjh shared a post on his official Instagram account to make the news public. News had already spread that Honsla Rakh has shattered the all-time record but Diljit’s post confirmed it. The superstar thanked his fans for the overwhelming support to him and the whole team of Honsla Rakh. 

The movie was already expected to be a box office success. With 4 huge names in the star cast and almost perfect trailer & songs, the audience had become very excited for the movie. This is just the beginning, the movie is being speculated to break all-time record for the highest ever grosser worldwide in the history of Punjabi film industry, a record currently held by Carry On Jatta 2.
