Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) singer Shakira has been one of the most popular artists worldwide who enjoy a fan following globally. People in India love her songs be it ‘Can’t Remember To Forget You’ or ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, she has delivered many hit tracks to the fans. But behind her iconic moves in Hips Don’t Lie, there’s the talent of a very popular and celebrity Bollywood director and choreographer.

However, not many people know that it was Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan who flew to New York to choreograph the pop icon for her super hit song – Hips Don’t Lie.

Farah Khan has revealed how Shakira wanted it to be in Bollywood Style and then she got the opportunity to choreograph Shakira for Hips Don’t Lie. The Indian director and choreographer was called to New York because Shakira wanted to perform the song Bollywood style. Thus, she went there and choreographed ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ for her.

Meanwhile, the song which was released in 2005 gained much popularity in India too. Moreover, Shakira had performed the track at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2006, complete with an elaborate Indian outfit and desi background dancers. The singer even won Best Choreography for her original dance.

At the time, Farah Khan said in one of her interviews, Shakira learnt the choreography the day before the actual performance. Praising her, Farah said, “Shakira is one of the most fabulous dancers in the world now, and since the performance was highly talked about, there was tremendous pressure to do well”.
