Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer of Don series has recently confirmed that Gathan Akhtar is currently working on Don 3. This classic crime thriller starring Shahrukh Khan fared well at the box office.
However, the third part of the Don franchise has a major change in it. This time, SRK has exited the franchise and he will be replaced by Ranveer Singh.
As per a source, the script of Don 3 was prepared during the Covid 19 pandemic. During a meeting with SRK, the actor revealed that he is not interested in going back to Don. Shahrukh is more inclined towards commercial films catering to a particular set of audience and Don surely doesn’t fit the requirement.
The rights of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 film Don was bought by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. In 2006 the makers risked it all and introduced Shahrukh Khan in the film Don and and its sequel as well.
Now, the makers have decided to release the third and the final version of the Don franchise Don; The Chase Ends. As per the reports by Pinkvilla, Shahrukh Khan has exited from the franchise and is still reluctant to join the film. It is speculated that Ranveer Singh will be starred in this crime thriller.
It was also reported that earlier the makers wanted to make a film by bringing all the three generations of Don together that included Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and a Gen Z actor.
However the idea wasn’t much appreciated by Shahrukh Khan and he decided to make an exit.
Not much has been revealed about the part 3 but all we know that Ranveer Singh might replace King Khan in Don’s final part which is a huge deal for all the SRKians.
