Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has officially ended his advisory role under former President Donald Trump’s administration, stating that his scheduled involvement had concluded. This exit follows Musk’s public criticism of Trump’s newly promoted spending package, referred to by the former president as a “big, beautiful bill.”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO had been serving in an advisory capacity during Trump’s term, contributing insights on innovation, clean energy, and economic development. However, Musk appeared increasingly at odds with Trump’s policies, particularly those related to environmental issues and fiscal planning.
In a recent post, Musk clarified that his departure was not abrupt but aligned with the timeline he had initially agreed upon. “My scheduled time has come to an end,” he said, while emphasizing his disagreement with certain policy directions taken by the Trump camp, especially the financial bill, which he felt did not align with the values of sustainability and forward-thinking economic strategies.
This is not the first time Musk has distanced himself from political figures over policy differences. His previous resignations from White House councils over the Paris Climate Agreement also highlight his strong stance on environmental priorities.
Musk’s exit marks yet another high-profile departure from Trump’s circle, showcasing the growing gap between innovative tech leaders and traditional political establishments. His decision is being seen as a bold statement against policies he believes could harm long-term progress.
