Fact Check: Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna Joined The Military Force? Truth Inside

Amid the Russia-Ukraine war, the government of Ukraine urged their citizens to join the fight against Russian soldiers present on Ukrainian soil. And due to this, many images and videos of civilians are surfacing all over the internet where they can be seen protecting their country against Russia. And one among them is Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna. The beauty queen shared a series of photos of herself where she can be seen carrying a gun and is in military uniform.

It was previously claimed that the former Miss Ukraine had joined the army. Many National and International media houses like News18, NDTV, Times Of India, Hindustan Times, New York Post and other big media houses reported this viral claim.

Not only mainstream media, but people on social media also assumed the same.

The claim which shows that Miss Ukraine Anastasiia joined the force amid the Ukraine-Russia war is false. The Logical Indian Fact Check team verified the claim and found it false. While searching on Anastassia’s official social media account, she shared a video and clarified that the photo of her holding a gun was only to ‘inspire’ citizens of the war-hit country. She further confirmed that she has not joined the military forces.

In her post, Leena wrote, “I AM NOT A MILITARY, JUST A HUMAN.”

While clarifying she further wrote that she is an airsoft player for years. And she earlier shared the picture to inspire people and like other normal people, she also has a normal life.

“I don’t do any propaganda except showing that our woman of Ukraine – strong, confident and powerful. I appreciate all attention and support to my country, all people in Ukraine we fight every day against Russian aggression,” she then added.

Anastasiia Lenna has appealed to NATO and other world powers to help Ukraine in the ongoing war.

And the picture of her holding an airsoft rifle is a replica of a real weapon. Hence, it is proved that the viral claim of Lenna’s joining arm is false and she was holding an Airsoft gun, not an actual weapon while posing.

She has also continuously urged for support and donations to the Ukrainian armed forces. Also, she has been vocal against the Russian aggression in Ukraine but in reality, she hasn’t joined the military.
