Must Check The List of 20 Fake Universities That are Marked as FAKE by UGC

University Grants Commission, UGC issued a list of 20 universities on Wednesday, which are fake and the degrees of such universities will not be recognised under the law. 

These institutions and universities are not authorized to award degrees to the students as they are ‘fake’. The list includes 20 such ‘fake’ institutions across the country however the highest number of unauthorized universities is from Delhi. 

The capital Region of India alone has eight such ‘fake’ universities which are incompetent and unauthorized to award degrees. 

UGC secretary Manish Joshi issued a statement that “It has come to the notice of the UGC that a number of institutions are offering degrees in contrary to the provisions of the UGC Act. Degrees awarded by such universities shall neither be recognised nor valid for higher education or employment purposes. These universities are not empowered to confer any degree”. 

Here Is the list of 20 fake universities operating across the country:

Delhi

  • United Nations University
  • Commercial University Ltd Daryaganj
  • Adhyatmik Vishwavidhalaya ( spiritual university) 
  • Viswakarma Open University for self employment
  • All India Institute Of Public and Physical Health sciences
  • Vocational University
  • Indian institution of Science and Engineering
  • ADR-Centric Juridical University

West Bengal

  • Indian Institute of Alternative Medicine, Kolkata
  • Institute of Alternative Medicine and Research, Thakurpurkur

Uttar Pradesh

  • Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad
  • National University Of Electro Complex Homeopathy
  • Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University (open university) 
  • Gandhi Hindi Vidyapith 

Andhra Pradesh 

  • Christ New Testament Deemed University
  • Bible Open University of India

Maharashtra

  • Raja Arabic University

Kerala

The main aim of UGC is to prevent students from getting enrolled in such fake and fraudulent institutions. 

It is also the responsibility and the duty of the student and their families to verify the status of the universities and get themselves enrolled only in such institutions which are verified by UGC
