Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra Arrested in Delhi Over Serious Charges, Legal Battle Ahead

In a shocking development, filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who recently made headlines for casting Maha Kumbh’s viral sensation Monalisa, was arrested in Delhi on March 30. The arrest followed the Delhi High Court’s rejection of his anticipatory bail plea in a serious case involving allegations of sexual assault.

According to Delhi Police, a 28-year-old aspiring actress from Jhansi accused Mishra of exploiting her under false promises of film roles. She alleged that he drugged her at a resort, took advantage of her, and later used compromising footage to blackmail her into submission over the years.

The victim, who initially connected with Mishra through social media in 2020, further claimed that he manipulated her under the pretext of marriage while subjecting her to prolonged abuse. Based on her complaint, authorities have registered an FIR against him under multiple legal sections, including rape, assault, and criminal intimidation.

Mishra, known for his work in the film industry, was recently in the news for offering a role to Monalisa, a 16-year-old bead seller who gained fame during Maha Kumbh 2025.

With his arrest, the case is expected to undergo further legal scrutiny in the coming days. The investigation continues as more details emerge.
