FIR Filed Against Rapper Badshah In Punjab For Hurting Christian Sentiments; Reports

Popular Indian rapper Badshah has reportedly landed in legal trouble after a complaint alleged that his latest track “Velvet Flow” hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community. The Punjab Police registered an FIR on Tuesday at the Qila Lal Singh police station in Batala, Gurdaspur district.

The complaint was lodged by Emanual Masih, representing the Global Christian Action Committee. According to Masih, the song contains objectionable references to sacred terms such as “church” and “bible,” which he claims have been misused in a disrespectful manner. The FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pertaining to the deliberate act of outraging religious feelings.

Station House Officer Gurvinder Singh confirmed the registration of the case and said that investigations are ongoing. In addition to the legal action, a protest was organized in Batala on Tuesday, where members of the Christian community gathered to express their discontent and demand accountability from the rapper.

Badshah, known for his chart-topping hits and flamboyant style, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the controversy. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the artist and his team will respond to the growing backlash.
