Bob Nagra, the first turbaned police officer to join the Peel Police Canada is now awarded as Brampton Citizen of the year.
Peel Regional Police make this proud announcement and says, “Join us in congratulating Bob for receiving this prestigious designation and wish him continued success in his future endeavours. We have not seen the last of Bob Nagra.”
Nagra has been serving the community for decades and now he is highly encouraged to raise donations and food for various food banks in the region. He is also a partner for Cram-a-Cruiser events. Moreover, Bob has enabled and built relationships with stakeholders on the behalf of Seva Food Bank and became a mentor, trainer, and companion to many young people at Seva. For his duty, he received the Seva Founders Award in 2019 arising from his relentless efforts.
Not only does he serve the community, but Nagra is fully devoted to his Children’s life and activity. As he has worked as Chair on the school parent council. Further, he is very much engaged in sports and has taken on various roles in the Brampton athletic community, including Brampton Hockey Inc., Brams United Girls Soccer Club, Brampton Youth Soccer Club, and Brampton Minor Lacrosse. Further, he has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel, Special Olympics Ontario, and the Dreams Take Flight program.
He has also received many awards for being considered as a skilled ambassador. Nagra has united the gap between the South Asian community and Peel Regional Police throughout his career. Not only this, he became an instructor and role model for the large South Asian diaspora.
He has bestowed to enrich Brampton’s social, cultural, and civic life with his sweat and blood.
And keeping in mind his essential leadership skills, Nagra is invited and nominated to participate in the Governor General’s Leadership Conference in 2022.
