Funkaar: Kapil Sharma’s Biopic Announced, Fukrey Director To Helm The Film

The most beloved comedian of the country, Kapil Sharma is all set to get his Bollywood Biopic made. The director of the Bollywood superhit movie franchise, Fukrey, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is set to helm the film and it has been titled ‘Funkaar’. It will be produced by Mahaveer Jain. Top Production House Lyca Productions is going to produce the film. It is the same house that produced the country’s most expensive film to date, 2.0.

Born in the holy city Amritsar, Punjab, Kapil Sharma went through years of struggle to finally earn the title of the undisputed comedy king of India. He first gained popularity by winning a reality tv comedy show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, in 2007. But the whole country came to know about his name when he won a total of six seasons of Sony’s comedy show ‘Comedy Circus’.

Kapil soon launched his very own show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, under his own production banner, K9 Productions. The show went on to become the biggest Indian entertainment show, winning Kapil various prestigious awards and titles like The Most Popular Indian Tv Personality in 2016, 11th & 12th rank of Forbes India 100 Celebrity List in 2016 & 2017 respectively and many more.

Later, he moved on to Sony with ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. He has also acted in a bunch of Punjabi and Hindi movies and has a major fan following among the Punjabi audience. Many Punjabi celebrities view him as one of the most prominent global faces from Punjab and applaud him for his representation of Punjab at an international stage.

As of now, there aren’t any announcements regarding who is going to play the lead or the supporting roles. There is no idea regarding the release of the film but one thing is for sure that it is under development and the fans are surely going to love it.
