The month of August is going to be a very entertaining and engaging one for the listeners of Punjabi music. Gippy Grewal uploaded a couple of posts on his official Instagram that have filled the audience with excitement. He’s announced the first track of his much awaited album ‘Limited Edition’. It has been titled ‘Hathyar 2’ and will drop officially on 17 August.
It is going to be a duet song, female vocals being done by Manpreet Kaur. The very talented Happy Raikoti has written the lyrics of the song. Laddi Gill has produced the music for the song and Baljit Singh Deo has done the song’s video. It will also feature Navpreet Banga, famous by the name ‘browngirllifts’ in the music video of the song.
The name of the song must have hit you with nostalgia. The audience is expecting ‘Limited Edition’ to bring the old Gippy back. The bonus track of the song ‘2009 Re-heated’ gave a hint that we are going to experience the old Gippy-vibe in this album. And the title of the first song hints the same. ‘Hathyar’ came out almost a decade ago and it remains Gippy’s one of the biggest hits ever. The ‘golden era’ of Punjabi music, is it finally coming back?
Earlier, Gippy uploaded a clip of him thanking everyone for supporting the bonus track and the intro of the album. He also let it slip that the tracklist of the album will be announced after the first track.
So, the tracklist is still in the making and will be made public after 17 August. This album is going to be something bigger than we are expecting and Gippy is about to blow our minds!
