Punjabi cinema lately has produced some outstanding movies with great concepts. With the hopes to continue the phenomenon, Vijay Kumar Arora, who previously delivered Kali Jotta this year, came up with a comedy film with a good concept – Godday Godday Chaa. We have penned this Godday Godday Chaa movie review to let you know what this movie is offering to the fans.

Godday Godday Chaa stars Sonam Bajwa, Tania, Gitaj Bindrakhia and Gurjazz in lead roles. Movie has an outstanding supporting cast that features Nirmal Rishi, Sardar Sohi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Rupinder Rupi, Mintu Kapa, Amrit Amby and ensemble. Godday Godday Chaa is written by Jagdeep Sidhu, and that makes this film a much anticipated project. So did this movie land upto the expectations or not? Read this Godday Godday Chaa movie review to know.

Story

Beginning our Godday Godday Chaa movie review by discussing the story of the film which deals with the bygone era when women were not allowed by the patriarchal society of Punjab to visit a wedding (baraat). In the film, women join hands together to fight for their rights to attend a wedding. What happens and how it happens is actually what this movie is all about. And to know that you have to watch this amazing film.

We personally loved the concept and story of the film. The story is written very nicely and cleverly that targets the patriarchy hard under the guise of comedy. We must appreciate the screenplay of the film, as we already knew what was going to happen at last, but it was the film’s brilliant screenplay that made the journey to an obvious ending, an engaging affair.

Acting & Performances

Let’s talk about the acting and performances of this movie. Beginning with the super gorgeous Sonam Bajwa, who played Rani in the film is just too good in her role. Sonam fits so well in the character of Rani, who is an educated and confident girl. Her range exactly landed on what the Rani’s character demanded.

We are short of words to praise Tania after watching this movie. Tania played Nikko in the film, who is a young, flamboyant & notorious girl. Tania looked so good in her role that you’re gonna love every second of the film when she appears.

After Moh, expectations were sky-high from Gitaj Bindrakhia, and he didn’t disappoint at all. Gitaj is playing Bagga in the film, who is a cute, loving and soft-hearted man. Gitaj’s character is gonna win a million girl’s hearts, he’s such a cutie.

Gurjazz is gonna get a number of calls from filmmakers after this film. He is so good as Pinta in the film. We are in love with Nirmal Rishi mam. How good she is, damn! She is like fine wine that ages so well.

Sardar Sohi, Mintu Kapa, Gurpreet Bhangu, Amrit Amby along with other supporting actors were also very impressive in their roles but the one actor who delivered a stand out performance is Rupinder Rupi. Her comic timing is just too good. Her love for meat is what we all need to look out for when we say the word ‘Love’.

Writing & Performances

Godday Godday Chaa is written by the ace filmmaker – Jagdeep Sidhu. And what a beautiful story he has written. The movie is written so well that we tried hard but failed to find any loophole in the story or screenplay.

Talking about the direction of the film, then Vijay Kumar Arora, who has previously delivered masterpieces like Kali Jotta and Guddiyan Patole, has done a terrific job once again. The thing we loved most about his direction in this film that every character gets a proper screen timing and space to deliver best of their potential.

Music & Dialogues

Music of Godday Godday Chaa is too good. Movie’s songs have been buzzing around for weeks now and what makes them sound more melodious is how they are used in the film. Each song compliments the story perfectly. We personally liked Allahran De the most. But whether it is ‘Sakhiye Saheliye’, ‘Nazaare’, or ‘Kudiyan Di Marzi’, each song has its own charisma.

If we talk about the dialogues, this is probably the best Punjabi movie of this year in terms of dialogues only. Dialogues of the film are written so nicely and humorously that it will tickle your ribs for minutes. Some of the dialogues like ‘Aajkal de munde roleplay karde aa’ or ‘Main kade Gulab Jamun kha ke ni vekhya’ are too funny, we loved it!
