Kiren Rijiju, The Union Minister for YouthAffairs and Sports, congratulated Gurpreet Singh for achieving the feat through a tweet.

The Athletic Federation Of India (AFI) has also announced the 26-member team which will represent India in various events at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
