Hathras Professor’s 20-Year Abuse Scandal Sparks Outrage, Police Launch Manhunt

A shocking scandal has come to light in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, where Professor Rajnish Kumar, a 54-year-old chief proctor and head of the geography department at Seth Phool Chand Bagla PG College, has been accused of s*xually abusing female students for over two decades.

The revelation came on March 13 when more than 50 explicit videos and photos of Kumar exploiting students surfaced online, triggering outrage. Allegations suggest that he lured students with the false promise of better grades and government jobs, only to assault, r*pe, and blackmail them. He reportedly recorded these crimes to silence his victims.

Following an anonymous complaint, the Hathras police registered an FIR on March 13, 2025, under multiple serious charges, including r*pe, abuse of power, and assault. Reports indicate that the victims’ complaints were ignored for years, as the college administration allegedly attempted to shield Kumar from consequences.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Krishna Narayan, leading the investigation, revealed that the college authorities did not cooperate with the police initially. Despite earlier defending Kumar, the institution was forced to suspend him as undeniable evidence surfaced.

Currently, a massive search operation is underway, with three police teams tracking Kumar, who is now on the run. As of March 17, 2025, authorities remain determined to bring him to justice, while students and activists demand accountability from the college for its years of inaction.
