Here’s The Official Statement Of Jaswant Khalra’s Family On Biopic By Diljit Dosanjh

It is now confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh is going to star in the biopic of Indian Human Rights Activist, Jaswant Singh Khalra, who was abducted and murdered by the Policemen in 1995. All that is left is an official announcement. When a film on sensitive topics of such kinds is made, the community is always concerned about the historical accuracy of the film and this time, it is no different.

But, to clear the doubts of the audience and establish a ray of trust in their hearts, Jaswant Singh Khalra’s family has issued an official statement. Jaswant Khalra’s wife, Paramjit Kaur Khalra, through her official Facebook page, revealed that many people had approached them to make a biopic on Jaswant Singh Khalra but most of them wanted to do crowd funding to produce the film which the Khalra family did not want to be a part of.

She added that in the end, they decided to give the permission to Honey Trehan and Diljit Dosanjh. She also clarified that the Khalra Mission Organization is not involved in the project. The Khalra family will be reviewing the script of the movie and giving required inputs to the team, for asserting historical accuracy in the project.

Diljit Dosanjh also went on to post the screenshots of the statement by the Khalra family, which includes Paramjit Kaur Khalra, Navkiran Kaur Khalra and Janmeet Singh Khalra, on his official Instagram handle.

It is yet unrevealed when the film will be released in the theatre. The cast of the film, apart from a rumour of Arjun Rampal getting on board, is also a mystery. Diljit Dosanjh has previously given many films on Punjab history and hardly ever disappointed the community and the same is being expected from the artist this time too.
