Why AR Rehman Sent Legal Notice To Surgeons’ Association? Here’s What We Know

ASI ( Association of Surgeons of India) filed a complaint against AR Rehman, claiming that although he had received Rs 29 lakh which they paid as advance for his performance during their 78th annual national conference in 2018, he failed to organize the concert and never returned the money.

To this AR Rehman’s legal counsel, Narmadha Sampath Sent a Legal Notice To ASI. The Notice read, ” Your clients are hereby called upon to recall the notice dated 03.10.2023 within three days from today. You are also hereby called upon to issue a public apology immediately, prominently publicised for defaming my client. My client also demands a sum of ₹10 crore within a period of 15 days from today as damages for defaming the good reputation of my client, failing which my client will be constrained to initiate legal action against your client.”

As per the ETV Bharat, in a separate incident last month, an AR Rahman concert in Chennai called Marakuma Nenjam faced criticism due to mismanagement by the organizers, resulting in a stampede-like situation and reports of molestation. The event’s organizer, ACTC Events Founder and CEO Hemanth, publicly apologized and clarified that AR Rahman was not involved in organizing the event and should not be held responsible for the unfortunate incidents.
