Court Holds The Release Of Diljit Dosanjh’s Chamkila Biopic! REASON INSIDE

Many fans have their eyes set on the upcoming Chamkila biopic which currently is one of the highly anticipated Bollywood projects. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in the leading roles of Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Bibi Amarjot Kaur. But the awaited project has recently landed in a legal trouble as a court has put a hold on the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s Chamkila biopic.

Yes, you read that absolutely right. The court of Civil Judge, Senior Division, Harsimranjit Singh has restricted Reliance Entertainment, producer & director Imtiaz Ali, actor Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra and Gurmail Kaur, wife of late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, from broadcasting, releasing, uploading and streaming the Chamkila biopic in any manner.

The court has passed the order following the petition filed by Ishjeet Randhawa and Sanjot Randhawa, sons of late producer Gurdev Singh Randhawa. The petitioners pleaded that Chamkila’s wife had given the rights of making a biopic on Chamkila’s life to their father. For this, she was already paid an amount of 5 lakhs INR and no time limit was fixed to make the biopic.

And after the demise of producer Gurdev Singh in November 2022, when his sons began the preparations to make the biopic, Gurmail Kaur started delaying the matter. It was later revealed that another biopic based on the life of Chamkila was in the making in Bollywood.
