Hyderabad Family Tragedy: Couple Dies By Suicide After Killing Their Two Children

In a heart-wrenching incident, a couple in Hyderabad ended their lives after taking the lives of their two children, aged 13 and 10.

A note recovered from their home, written in Telugu, revealed their distress. “I had no other option but to end my life. Please forgive me. I have been struggling in my career and suffering mentally and physically. I have been suffering from diabetes, nerve, and kidney-related issues,” the message read.

Identified as Chandrasekhar Reddy, 44, and his wife, Kavitha, 35, the couple had been facing severe financial difficulties. Mr. Reddy, who had previously worked as a junior lecturer at a private college, had been unemployed since 2023. Sources suggest that their prolonged struggle with financial instability and deteriorating health pushed them to take this extreme step.

Police were alerted on Monday night via a call to the emergency helpline and arrived at the family’s residence in Habsiguda, Hyderabad. Upon entry, officers discovered the bodies of Mr. Reddy and Ms. Kavitha in different rooms, while their children—10-year-old Vishwan Reddy and 13-year-old Shrita Reddy—were found lifeless in their respective bedrooms. Preliminary investigations indicate that the parents strangled their children before dying by suicide.

Vishwan was a Class V student, and Shrita was in Class IX.

Originally from Kalwakurthy in Telangana, the couple had relatives in Hyderabad. Their deaths highlight the harsh realities of financial insecurity and the emotional toll of unemployment in India, where millions struggle daily to sustain their livelihoods.

The bodies have been sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examinations, as authorities continue their investigation into this tragic case.
