Hyderabad Soaks in Torrential Rain, Streets Flood as City Battles Weather Fury

Relentless rain swept across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana, bringing a much-needed break from the scorching heat but leaving the city grappling with chaos. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more downpours in the coming days, warning of thunderstorms across Hyderabad and nearby districts.

What started as welcome relief quickly turned into a struggle as streets transformed into rivers. Images and videos circulating on social media show cars nearly submerged, people wading through knee-deep water, and traffic crawling through waterlogged roads with almost zero visibility.

Several key areas in the city were hit hard by the showers. Localities like Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Punjagutta, Begumpet, Tarnaka, and Paradise witnessed flooding, while places such as ECIL Cross Roads, Habsiguda, Kapra, Karkhana, and Alwal reported heavy rainfall. Residents in Sainikpuri, Trimulgherry, and Masab Tank also faced similar disruptions as the rain poured nonstop.

Though the rain cooled down the blazing temperatures, it left Hyderabad struggling to stay on its feet. Many commuters were stranded, and normal routines were disrupted.

As the IMD’s alert continues, residents are bracing for more wet days ahead – hoping for fewer disruptions and quicker responses from civic bodies.
