Abhay Singh, also known as “IIT Baba,” was recently detained by Jaipur authorities under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for possessing marijuana. However, Singh clarified that he was granted bail soon after the arrest due to the small amount of the substance found in his possession.
In a statement, Singh addressed the rumors surrounding his detention, describing them as false. “There are several pieces of fake news circulating — one claiming my suicide and another about my detention. The only truth is that I was granted bail immediately because the quantity of the substance was small,” he explained.
This incident comes shortly after Singh accused some saffron-clad individuals of assaulting him during a news debate in Noida. According to Singh, these individuals entered the newsroom, misbehaved with him, and physically attacked him with sticks.
Singh, who gained widespread recognition as “IIT Baba” during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, has also claimed to have graduated in aerospace engineering from IIT-Bombay.
