India Hits Back at Pakistan’s Kashmir Claims, Calls Out Army Chief’s Bold Assertion

India has firmly dismissed the recent remarks made by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, who provocatively referred to Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” Responding sharply, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an inseparable part of India and no foreign entity has any say in its internal affairs.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized, “How can something that doesn’t belong to you be your jugular vein? Jammu and Kashmir is a Union Territory of India, and the only connection Pakistan has with it is to vacate the area it illegally occupies.”

Jaiswal’s remarks targeted Pakistan’s age-old narrative on Kashmir, making it clear that India sees such claims as baseless and unacceptable.

In support, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also took to social media to express his disapproval. Quoting General Munir’s statement, Sarma wrote on platform ‘X’ that the Army Chief has openly acknowledged the deep ideological divide between the two nations. He pointed out that India and Pakistan differ completely in values, culture, and aspirations-making a close bilateral relationship an unrealistic hope.

India’s strong stance sends a clear signal that its sovereignty over Kashmir is non-negotiable, and any attempts by Pakistan to interfere will be met with decisive rejection.
