The awaited and much-celebrated global event, the Cannes Film Festival is finally happening in the south of France. The international film festival has already garnered immense limelight across the globe and every nationality is eager and super excited to witness their people represent them.

But let us begin with the Indian films first. India’s Information And Broadcasting Ministry had chosen a total of six for screening at the Cannes Film Festival, but unfortunately, none of them was selected for any competition at the film festival.
R Madhavan’s trilingual Rocketry The Nambi Effect, Marathi film Godavari and Achal Mishra’s Maithili film Dhuin, Hindi film Alpha Beta Gamma, Assamese Boomba Ride, and Malayalam film Niraye Thathakalulla Maram are six Indian films which have been sent for screening in the Cannes. Apart from these, Satyajit Ray’s 1970 movie Pratidwandi will be exclusively screened at the international event.
Now talking about the Indian actor and celebrities, Deepika Padukone already made it big and headlines as she has been selected one among the eight jury members at the Cannes Film Festival. Padukone is the first-ever Indian after 2013 (Vidya Balan) to receive this honor and achievement.
Anurag Thakur, the minister of India’s Information And Broadcasting led the red carpet. Talking about the actresses, Aishwarya, TV actors Hina Khan and Helly Shah, and South Indian stars, like Nayanthara, Pooja Hegde, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Tamannaah Bhatia will also mark their attendance at the Cannes red carpet.
Also, aced actors like Nawazzudin Siddiqui, R Madhavan also ruled the red carpet like the OG bosses. R. Madhavan’s movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is also set to witness a world premiere at the global event.
On the other hand, AR Rahman will also be present at the Cannes, as his first directorial with Le Musk will also premiere at the event.
And not to exclude Rajasthani Folk Singer Mame Khan, who is the first Indian folk artist to attend a Cannes Film Festival.
