Indian Embassy Urges Citizens to Exit Tehran Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Military Conflict

In response to the ongoing Israeli attacks on Iran since Friday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued an urgent advisory on Tuesday, requesting all Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) to vacate Tehran and move to safer locations using personal resources.

The embassy asked those currently in the city to immediately contact them and share their location and contact details. Multiple helpline numbers have been activated by both the embassy and India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed the setup of a 24×7 control room in New Delhi to assist affected citizens. He also released contact numbers and emails for emergency communication.

In addition, the Embassy in Tehran has facilitated the relocation of Indian students from Tehran to safer areas. Some citizens have also been helped across the Iran-Armenia border. The embassy assured continuous support and stated that further advisories may be released as the situation develops.

The ongoing military conflict saw Israel launching heavy strikes on western Iran, targeting missile launch infrastructure and UAV storage sites. Iran responded with over 370 missiles and hundreds of drones aimed at Israel, resulting in 24 Israeli de*ths and over 500 injuries.

US President Donald Trump also warned civilians to evacuate Tehran, reinforcing the urgency of the Indian advisory.
