Indian Held At Chicago Airport With 3200 Viagra Pills

An Indian passenger, travelling from India to the US, was caught with 3200 viagra pills in a bag scan at the Chicago airport. The identity of the accused has been kept hidden by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CBP said in a statement “During a baggage exam, our officers found the passenger was in possession of 3,200 Sildenafil Citrate tablets (100 mg). When the traveller was asked the reason behind possession of the pills in such an amount, he stated they were for his friends and they are considered over the counter medication in India.”

The pills weigh 9 pounds and have an estimated Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of about 96,608 USD, according to CBP. The Food and Drug Administration of the US does not allow import of prescription drugs purchased out of the country. The man failed to provide a satisfactory justification on the matter and this, was held for unlawful importation of medication

“Our inspecting officers have the daunting tasks of inspecting items that the passengers are trying to bring into the US,” said Shane Campbell, Area Port Director-Chicago.
