Indian Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui Dies In Afghanistan Clashes

A saddening news for India has come from Farid Mamundzay, the ambassador of Afghanistan to India. In one of his recent tweet and informed the world about the demise of indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui. He tweeted,

Deeply disturbed by the sad news of the killing of a friend, Danish Seddiqi in Kandahar last night. The Indian Journalist & winner of Pulitzer Prize was embedded with Afghan security forces. I met him 2 weeks ago before his departure to Kabul. Condolences to his family & Reuters.”

Danish was killed while reporting from Afghanistan’s Kandahar as he was reporting the actions of the Afghan Special Forces. He was associated with Indian news company Reuters. He was updating the world with the situation in Afghanistan through his regular tweets, and a few days back he had also mentioned that, ‘felt lucky to be safe’ in one of his tweets.

Danish was a Pulitzer Prize winner and was popular for covering brave and courageous stories. His demise is a loss not only for his family and close ones but for the entire nation.
