A heartbreaking video from Newark Airport in New Jersey has gone viral, showing an Indian student being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by U.S. authorities. The incident reportedly happened on June 7, when the student, who had arrived to board a flight, was instead detained and later deported.
Kunal Jain, an Indian-American entrepreneur, shared the video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He called the scene deeply inhumane and described it as a human tragedy. In his post, Jain expressed his shock and helplessness, writing, “I witnessed a young Indian student being deported from Newark Airport last night—handcuffed, crying, treated like a criminal. He came chasing dreams, not causing harm.”

Jain has urged the Indian Embassy in the U.S. and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to step in and help the student. He mentioned that the student appeared to be from Haryana and hinted that this is not an isolated case. According to him, several Indian students and travelers have been deported recently after failing to clearly explain their reasons for visiting the U.S. — despite having valid visas.
The video has sparked anger and concern online. While many are calling for government action, others are asking whether all the facts are known. Still, the images have left many disturbed and saddened.
