
The controversy has escalated after Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’, with a police complaint filed against more than 30 people. Meanwhile, YouTubers Apoorva Makhija aka ‘Rebel Kid’ and Ashish Chanchlani have given their statements to the police. According to police sources, Apoorva Makhija and Ashish Chanchlani said in their statement that ‘India’s Got Latent’ is unscripted, allowing the panelists and contestants to speak freely during the show.
They also told the police that the judges are not paid but they can share the show’s content on social media. Sources said that contestants have to buy tickets to participate and the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the winner. In an interview with CNN-News18, Rakhi Sawant claimed that she was paid to appear on India’s Got Latent. Despite this, she supported Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina amid the ongoing controversy.
The controversy started when podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made a cheap joke about ‘parents bonding’ on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Talent. In the viral clip, he asked a contestant a highly objectionable question, which sparked outrage and Ranveer was heavily criticised for making vulgar comments.
