Infosys Techie Arrested for Secretly Filming Woman in Bengaluru Office Restroom

A senior associate working with Infosys in Bengaluru has been arrested for allegedly filming a woman inside the office restroom. The accused, identified as Nagesh Swapnil Mali, was caught red-handed by the female employee on Monday.

According to the FIR, the woman noticed unusual activity in the adjacent cubicle and was shocked to find Mali secretly recording her. She immediately raised an alarm, prompting other employees to rush to the scene and detain him. His mobile phone, which reportedly contained the video footage, was seized and later deleted in the presence of Human Resources personnel and the victim.

Bengaluru Police have initiated an investigation to determine if there are more victims. Authorities suspect that this may not be Mali’s first offence and have sent his phone to a forensic lab to recover any deleted content. The results will help confirm whether he had recorded other women as well.

In a similar case that occurred in April in Ayodhya, a 25-year-old employee of a guest house near the Ram Temple was arrested for filming a woman while she was bathing. The woman, a devotee from Varanasi, spotted a shadow and realized she was being recorded from above through the tin roof. The accused, Saurabh Tiwari, was taken into custody, and his phone was found to contain multiple videos of other female guests too.

These disturbing incidents raise serious concerns about workplace and personal safety for women, both in professional and religious spaces.
