Instagram’s Threads is here! What is it and how to use it?

Mark zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta has finally introduced the application Threads which is a new text-based application from Instagram, which looks very similar to Twitter. This aap became available Wednesday night to users in more than 100 countries. Here is how to use this Application!

Go to the App Store or Google Play on your phone and type in “Threads, an Instagram app” (as it has Instagram as its developer) into the search bar.Users are required to have an Instagram account in order to use Threads. Once you download the app, it will prompt you to login using your Instagram account. From there, Threads will automatically port over your Instagram username, but you can still customize your profile. Also you can automatically follow all your followings from your Instagram account or follow any new account.

Once you are done with setting up your account, you will be brought to your Threads feed where you can see posts from the people you follow, as well as random users you don’t follow.

The house icon brings you to your feed. The magnifying glass icon takes you to a search page where you can type in the user names of people you wish to follow. The pen-and-paper icon lets you create a new thread. The heart icon shows your account activity.

As Threads has Instagram as its parent aap, your Instagram account will also be deleted if you proceed with the deletion of your Threads account. Unfortunately, this is the only path available if you really want to take this step. In order to delete your Threads account you need to delete your Instagram account too!

In the meantime, you can choose to hide your Threads profile and content by deactivating your Threads account. To do this, go to the profile tab, tap the settings icon, select “Account,” choose “Deactivate profile,” and then click the “Deactivate Threads profile” button.
