The upcoming Bollywood movie Hera Pheri 3 has been in the news headlines since after it was officially announced. But when Akshay Kumar rejected the film, the buzz took the internet by storm. Fans made hashtags like #NoRajuNoHera-pheri trend on Twitter as they really wanted Akshay to be part of this film.
Later, the news claiming Kartik Aaryan has been roped in the awaited Hera Pheri 3 also broke the internet. But fans were not happy as some reports claimed that Kartik Aaryan has replaced Akshay Kumar in this movie. But the news has been officially tagged as fake by none other than Suniel Shetty himself.

Kartik definitely will be a part of Hera Pheri 3 but he is not replacing Akshay Kumar in the role of Raju. In fact, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor will be introduced as a new character in the franchise.
In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Suniel Shetty opened up about Hera Pheri 3. He disclosed that he himself is very surprised to know that Akshay Kumar has rejected the film. With this, the superstar Shetty also cleared the air by commenting on the viral news claiming Kartik Aaryan has been roped in to replace Akshay Kumar in the film.
Suniel stated, “We were clear that this was the trio that was doing it and after a long time, it had fallen into place. So for me also it was an absolute surprise that Akshay is not doing the film and Kartik is doing the film. At the same time, I also know now that Kartik is doing the film but he is not playing Raju.”
Suniel Shetty also revealed that he is yet to discuss the details and changes in the film’s script with the makers. “Now, what the turn of events is, what has happened to the script is something that I need to go sit down with them and find out what all this Hera Pheri is. Aur ye Hera Pheri Phir Hera Pheri kyu ho rahi hai. That is something that I need to know. The intention is very clear that the film needs to be made because it’s been 14 years.”
Concluding the conversation, Suniel Shetty also talked about the other awaited sequels of Awara Pagal Deewana and Welcome. He said, “For every actor, your IP and the brand that you have built is very important. I am excited about Hera Pheri 3, I am excited about Awara Pagal Dewaana and I am excited that Firoz Nadiadwala is doing Welcome. He’s a close friend of mine and I wish him the best because he’s had a bad 10 years. If somebody is coming out of the rut, he’s a large-hearted producer, so good for him. But better sense prevails and everything falls into place.”

Moreover, the Hera Phera franchise is based on the live stories of Raju, Shyam and Babu Rao. Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal are much loved for these characters, but Raju will no longer be a part of Hera Pheri 3.
While Akshay reasoned creative differences behind his decision to walk out from the film, it was later revealed that Akshay had demanded a whopping amount to be a part of Hera Pheri 3. For now, the real reason why Akshay Kumar chose to reject Hera Pheri 3 is not in the public eye, but the fans are sad as they will definitely miss Raju in the upcoming movie of the superhit franchise.
