Jackie Shroff Moves High Court Demanding Protection Of His Rights Upon Misuse Of “Bhidu” Word

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has moved the Delhi High Court demanding protection of his personality and publicity rights. Hearing the case filed by Jackie Shroff, the bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula has issued notice to the defendant organizations and sought their response.

Jackie Shroff has filed a lawsuit against various entities using his name, photo, voice and the word “Bhidu” without his consent. The court will consider passing an interim order in the case on Wednesday.

Jackie Shroff filed the suit arguing that various entities were misusing his name, image, name and voice for commercial purposes.

Advocate Praveen Anand, appearing for Jackie Shroff, said that his client’s personality and publicity rights are being violated by misuse of his name, image, voice and his personality traits. Earlier, Delhi High Court has given relief to superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in a similar case.
