Reportedly, the officials have claimed that Farooq Ahmed Dar, popularly known as Bitta Karate, is now being held in detention due to allegations of terror funding. His wife, Assabah-ul-Arjamand Khan, worked for the Directorate of Rural Development as an administrative services officer for Jammu and Kashmir.

Syed Salahuddin is the leader of the Hizbul Mujahideen, a banned terrorist organisation with headquarters in Pakistan. His son Syed Abdul Mueed, is the Manager of Information and Technology at the Department of Industries and Commerce.

For the last two years, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir has been actively sacking the employees who are accused of having any connection with the terrorist organisations. The action against these four, is a part of that effort. Till now, approximately 35 people have been fired from their jobs for allegedly having ties to the terrorist organisations and functioning as their overground workers.

Assabah-ul-Arjamand Khan, a 2011-batch Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) official and the wife of Farooq Ahmed Dar alias “Bitta Karate,” is suspected of giving false information in her passport application.

She is accused of “having connections with foreign individuals who have been listed by Indian security and intelligence to be employed by the ISI.” As per the media reports, the officials added that there had been reports of her transporting a shipment of cash to fund anti-Indian operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
