Jassie Gill Clarifies ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai’ Was Shot 2 Years Ago, Before The Farmers’ Protest Started

Punjabi singer and actor Jassie Gill is also a renowned face in the Bollywood Industry. He’s previously worked in Bollywood films like Panga. The actor’s most recent work was a feature film, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai, alongside Surbhi Jyoti. It was released exclusively on OTT platform Zee5.

The singer-actor was subjected to a lot of criticism for working in the film, just because of the fact that it was released on Zee Media’s OTT platform. The supporters of farmers’ protest are actively boycotting any forces that they consider anti-farmers and Zee products, including their channels, movies, songs and platforms.

Jassie Gill has now come out with an official clarification on the issue. Sharing a picture from the shoot wrap-up party of the feature film, the actor revealed that the film had been shot 2 years ago. The actor even shared the picture of the film’s clap, which showed that the shoot of the film was wrapped up on 14 November 2019, before the Farmers’ protest had even started. He also showed his support for the farmers’ protest by using the ‘Kisaan Mazdoor Ekta’ hashtag.

Further clarifying, Jassie Gill also added that he did this film only with Pen India Limited, the production house. According to the actor he has no relation to what platform the film is released on. He was bound in a legal contract for the film only with Pen India Limited and the platform of the film’s release has no relations to him.
