Shahrukh Khan is born to create histories and break records. His film Jawan has broken the records yet again to earn the highest in one single day. Jawan saw a blockbuster opening on its release day by earning ₹75 crore all over India.
However, on Sunday it broke that record by garnering a collection of ₹81 crores on a single day! If we talk globally, this film has earned around ₹144.2 crores worldwide in a single day.
Jawan is the second action film of Shahrukh to release this year. His earlier actioner Pathaan created a history at the box office by earning ₹524 crores in Hindi and if we include all the versions, the film did a great business of ₹543 crores.
Jawan is also recorded to beat Pathaan and Gadar 2 by entering the ₹200 crores club in three days. Pathaan took 4 days to reach this mark and Gadar 2 managed it in 5 days.
Apart from Shahrukh, Jawan has a star studded cast of Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupati, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Deepika Padukone etc. This film has been receiving immense appreciation since its trailer got released.
The casting director of Jawan, Mukesh Chhabra in an interview with Etimes shared that it took him more than a year to cast these faces in this film to make it look perfect
He said, as quoted by Etimes “The entire process of casting was very interesting because when you do a big commercial film you have to keep a lot of things in mind. We had to mix the new faces with some little known faces so that the girl gang has power. That’s why we have cast Sanya Malhotra, Sanjeeta Mukherjee, Girija Oak Godbole, Lehar Khan and Alia Qureshi because their auditions were so good and their faces are different. Every girl needed to look different. That was the whole idea. That’s why the process of balancing the casting took one year. It is difficult to find new faces with so much going around but in spite of that our country has so much talent and you will find the talent who will be suitable for the part. But you need to have makers who support you and I am happy that I’m getting films where I can bring such talented actors.”
