With Holi and Ramadan coinciding this year, the Sambhal police are on high alert to ensure peaceful celebrations. Authorities have been conducting regular peace committee meetings to address concerns and maintain communal harmony. During one such meeting, Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Chaudhary stressed the need for mutual respect, urging communities to celebrate their traditions peacefully.
जुम्मा साल में 52 बार आता है, होली साल में 1 बार आती है। अगर किसी को लगता है कि होली के रंग से उनका धर्म भ्रष्ट हो जाएगा, तो उस दिन घर से न निकलें।

Chaudhary acknowledged the sensitivity of the situation, stating, “While Jumma comes 52 times a year, Holi comes just once. If individuals feel their religion is compromised by the festivities, they should remain indoors. If they choose to go out, they must be prepared to accept and respect the traditions of others.” He further compared the significance of both festivals, drawing a parallel between the anticipation for Eid among Muslims and Holi for Hindus. While emphasizing the importance of respecting each other’s customs, he clarified that no one should be forced to participate in Holi traditions, such as applying colors.
The security measures stem from previous tensions in the region, particularly violent clashes near Jama Masjid last November, where stone-pelting by a mob resulted in casualties. Given these past incidents, officials are taking extra precautions to prevent any disturbances. Chaudhary warned that any attempt to disrupt harmony would lead to strict administrative action.
