Kangana Ranaut frustrated as MP, says people bring her ‘panchayat-level problems’

Actor‑turned‑MP Kangana Ranaut says serving as BJP MP from Mandi isn’t fulfilling yet. On the AIR Atman in Ravi podcast, she admitted, “I’m getting a hang of it, but I’m not enjoying it.” She confessed that daily issues like broken drains and potholes feel like “panchayat‑level problems,” not fitting her expectation of parliamentary duties.

Kangana explained that she entered politics on impulse after being offered a chance. She said, “I’ve lived a very selfish life. I like luxury,” and that politics feels like sacrifice she didn’t sign up for. She added that constituents often tell her, “You have money, you use your own money,” when solving local infrastructure concerns.

Her frank admission has triggered a social media debate. Some praise the candour, others question her readiness for governance. Kangana ruled out ambition to climb further, saying she doesn’t want to be Prime Minister, and lacks passion for public service. Her comments arrive amid criticism from Pratibha Singh, who demanded faster action on monsoon damage in Mandi and urged Kangana to use her MPLAD funds.
