Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is in the headlines for her film ‘Emergency’, which after being postponed several times, is now finally going to be released in theaters on 17 January 2025. This film was in controversy and due to this it could not be released on its scheduled time. Perhaps this is the reason why Kangana has now given up making such political movies. Here’s what she said.
Kangana Ranaut has said in an interview to News 18 Showsha that whatever she has done in her life has given her important lessons. She says, ‘I will never make a political film again. I am not very inspired. It is very difficult to make it. Now I understand why many people do not do this, especially on real life characters. Having said that, I think Anupam (Kher) ji has done a great job in ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ as Manmohan Singh. This is one of his best performances. But if you ask me, I will never make it again.’
It is known that ‘Emergency’ is directed by Kangana Ranaut. She had to go through many difficulties while making this film. But she never let it come in the way of work. She says, ‘I never lost my temper on this set. If you are a producer, on whom will you lose your temper? As a director, you can fight with the producer, but if you are playing the role of both, then with whom can you fight? I wanted to say that I want more money and I am not happy. Who said what?’
Kangana further said, ‘We were shooting during the pandemic. I had an international crew and they are very strict. They had strict contracts and they wanted their payment by the end of every week. Since they were fixed for my film, I had to pay them even if I was not shooting. And then there was a flood in Assam. I also had many other issues, which I was dealing with. I was struggling to make this film. I felt helpless. I felt hopeless. Who could I show my frustration to? There was no one.’
However, Kangana also revealed that her family, especially her sister Rangoli, bore the brunt of her anger. She said, ‘It is a blessing to have a family with whom you can be yourself.’
