Kannada Actor Puneeth ‘Appu’ Rajkumar Passes Away Aged 46

Kannada Actor Puneeth Rajkumar lost the battle of his life on Friday afternoon. The actor was 46 years old. He suffered from a heart attack and was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru and took his final breath there. Actor Sonu Sood let out the information and confirmed the news of Puneeth’s death with a tweet.

The actor was loved by the fans of Kannada cinema. He was fondly called ‘Appu’ by them. Being the son of legends of the cinema like Rajkumar and Parvathamma, Puneeth’s acting journey began at a very young age. He made his first on-screen appearance as a child artist and went on to act in over 29 Kannada films. In 1985, he also won a National Award for the Best Child Actorfor the movie Bettada Hoovu.

The actor was to begin the shooting of the movie Dvitva, directed by Pawan Kumar from 1 November. According to the reports, a high alert has been issued in Karnataka following the actor’s sudden death due to a major cardiac arrest. Troops have been deployed by the government and theatres have been ordered to shut down with immediate effect.

The sudden death of the artist has shaken the whole Kannada film industry. Many celebrities from the Kannada film industry have posted regarding the tragic news and mourned the death of the great actor. The fans have also been left shattered after hearing the news of the sudden demise of the artist.
