
Rishab Shetty unveiled the poster for Kantara: Chapter 1 on his birthday, July 7. The fiery artwork shows him in warrior mode, holding a sword and axe, with flames blazing in the background. The announcement also confirmed that filming is complete and the film will release on October 2, 2025.
The official announcement was made by Hombale Films on Instagram.
The original Kantara, released in 2022, was a massive hit. Made on a modest budget of around ₹16 crore, it went on to earn over ₹400 crore globally. In Karnataka alone, it grossed around ₹180 crore. It also became the first Kannada film to cross ₹1 million in North America. The film broke several records, including outperforming KGF: Chapter 2 in its home state.
With this prequel diving into deeper folklore and myth, fans are excited. The new chapter is expected to deliver another big cinematic moment when it hits screens on Gandhi Jayanti.
