Throwback To The Time When Kapil Sharma Was Rejected In Indian Idol Auditions

Kapil Sharma is the most popular and successful comedian in India. With the success of his comedy interview shows, Comedy Nights With Kapil Sharma and The Kapil Sharma Show, he has actually become a household name. He enjoys a massive fan following and all his fans are aware that along with being a great natural comedian, Kapil is also an exceptionally talented singer. 

But do you know the popular comedian once tried to participate in Indian Idol. Yes, Kapil decided to participate in the popular singing reality show; Indian Idol, but unfortunately, he was rejected in the auditions. Kapil in an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show talked about the incident.

The episode had Indian Idol 13 judges Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar, and Himesh Reshammiya, and contestants Vineet Singh, Rishi Singh, Navdeep Vadali, and Sanchari Sengupta as guests. While it was a great musical environment, Kapil also went on to narrate the tale of his failed Indian Idol auditions.

Kapil said, “I have given ‘Indian Idol’ auditions during one of the seasons. The auditions took place in Amritsar and I was not selected. Then there was this ‘Indian Idol’ copy ‘Awaz Punjab Di’ in our area where I was selected.”

But before you feel pity or disheartened by Kapil’s rejection in Indian Idol, you must know that he soon got to participate in The Laughter Challenge, the show that turned the tables for Kapil Sharma. 

Describing the same, Kapil revealed, “During that very time, I also got selected for The Laughter Challenge. However, I had self-analysed and made a decision and I finally chose ‘The Laughter Challenge’.”

The Indian Idol judges were extremely surprised after Kapil revealed the tale. But Kapil concluded the story on a happy note as he said he is delighted that today Indian Idol judges are on his show.

“Honestly, I used to give auditions in all kinds of shows with the simple motivation that ‘kahin na kahin toh ghuss hi jaunga'(I will get an entry somewhere). But I am extremely delighted to see how Indian Idol judges are here as the guests of our show”, said Kapil Sharma. 

It is said, what happens, happens for a reason. Sometimes destiny has better plans for you, and hence you fail in what you had planned for yourself. The same seems to be the case with Kapil Sharma’s story.
