Amid ‘Rajaram’ Promotions, Khesari Lal Yadav Defends Bhojpuri Pride in Banter with Diljit Dosanjh

Megastar and singer of Bhojpuri films Khesari Lal Yadav is seen in the role of Lord Ram in his new film ‘Rajaram’. These days Khesari Lal Yadav is seen everywhere for the promotion of this film. During this time Khesari Lal Yadav also reached the studio of ‘IANS’, where he was asked many questions and the actor answered them all fearlessly.

He was asked that your film ‘Rajaram’ is releasing on the auspicious occasion of Chhath, tell us about your character in the film? On this the Bhojpuri actor said that the film ‘Rajaram’ is releasing on 7 November. “In this film, Raj is different and Ram is different. It is the story of an artist. The artist plays the character of Ram but people’s faith gets attached to him. Now he has no personal life, people have considered him God. Now people want him to live for us. Whereas he has his own personal life. He wants me to do this role as an artist. There is controversy on that and things become bigger”.

He was asked about Diljit Dosanjh that you tweeted three days ago, there was a lot of uproar. What is that?

On this Khesari Lal said that “I was not doing that show in UP and Bihar but I was doing it in Maharashtra. Two and a half to three lakh people coming to Maharashtra is not a small thing, it is a very big thing. For a small artist, a person coming from a small village in Bihar, I had tweeted for him. People consider our language very weak. People say that this language Bhojpuri, Maithili is a Bihari language, so to show that the power of us Biharis, the power of our language is very big. I connected with him, so there is a little bit of banter among the artists. Diljit Dosanjh is a very big artist and is respected. He is here today, he was here yesterday, he was here the day before yesterday. He is our elder brother, he is respected but in a banter, the people who tell the world that Bhojpuri language is this, Bhojpuri language is that, who speak for the people, this tweet was for them. You can see how much the dignity of our language has increased. Nearly three lakh people came to a land like Maharashtra and lit the lights together and it felt like it was Deepawali. People lit the diyas again, so that is a topic. It is a matter of pride for our language, a matter of pride, for that I had tweeted to those who speak ill of our language. He said that it was a little banter. Those were not very serious things. Understand that it was just fun. It was important for me to tell some people who speak ill of our language. I had tweeted for them. I had fun speaking with Diljit Dosanjh.”
