AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh’s alleged fight has been making waves on social media. Recently, during his appearance on ‘The Ranveer Show’, AP Dhillon addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding concerts in India being declared sold out within seconds, including Diljit’s highly talked-about Dil-Luminati Tour.
AP criticized this trend and highlighted how it negatively impacts fans. He alleged that it’s primarily a marketing strategy. He shared his views on how tickets are often pre-sold to promoters, leaving genuine fans to purchase them later at inflated prices.
He said, as quoted by Hindustan Times, “India mein abhi crisis aa jayega agar isi hisab se chalta raha. Artists are being unfair with their own fans ki 15 seconds mein sell out ho gaye shows. Kuchh bhi sell out nahi hua hai (that shows sold out within 15 seconds. Nothing is sold out). It’s all a way of marketing. Promoters ko ticket de dete hain. The fans, ab unko wait karna padta hai, aur higher price mein ticket khareedna padta hai (They sell tickets to promoters which is why fans have to wait and buy tickets at higher prices)”.
He continued further “At some point, humein bhi yehi laga, should we play this game? But I’m like no, we can’t go to bed knowing that jinhone show dekhne aana tha, humne unke sath aise kiya. You name it, koi bhi show ho raha hai jo sold out hai, mujhe batao, 2,000 tickets chahiye, kal hi dilwa dunga. Aaj hi dilwa dunga. Log music ko abhi game ki tarah khel rahe hain. So usi mein mazza jo hai kharab ho gaya”.
He also mentioned that people would soon become aware of the situation, describing it as a “dirty game.” AP emphasized that no artist is greater than their fans, who deserve the opportunity to purchase tickets at fair prices. While he refrained from naming any specific artist benefiting from this approach, he argued that those with higher status should avoid engaging in such practices, as it offers them little benefit in the long run.
At the same time, Diljit Dosanjh defended his tour during one of his concerts, emphasizing that he has worked hard for years on his music and earned the overwhelming response from fans.
