LA Woman Thanks ChatGPT For Saving Her Relationship By Mediating Fights With Boyfriend

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape various industries, some couples are finding an unconventional use for it—relationship mediation. Instead of spending hundreds on therapy, many are now relying on AI chatbots like ChatGPT to navigate conflicts, gain relationship insights, and even reflect on breakups.

Abella Bala, a 36-year-old influencer talent manager from Los Angeles, and her boyfriend, Dom Versaci, 29, a data scientist, have been using ChatGPT for six months to resolve disagreements. Bala humorously admitted, “Until it takes Dom’s side,” as reported by the New York Post. The AI-powered assistant, available for just $20 a month, provides them with fresh perspectives and helps reduce the stress of heated discussions. Versaci added, “Therapy is expensive, and sometimes you just need a neutral third party to tell you who’s being insane.”

However, AI-generated advice isn’t always perfect. During a rough patch, ChatGPT unexpectedly suggested that Bala and Versaci consider “opening up” their relationship or that Bala give Versaci a “hall pass” to date other women. While the couple found the suggestion amusing, it ultimately helped them move past their disagreement.

Grace Mijoo, 35, from Williamsburg, also relies on AI to navigate relationship challenges with her boyfriend, Eric, 40. “I tell ChatGPT what’s going on between us, and we provide it with transcripts of what our conversations are like,” Mijoo shared. The chatbot has helped them analyze their communication patterns, particularly in how they check in with each other.

While AI may not replace traditional therapy, it is emerging as an accessible and affordable tool for couples seeking a different perspective on their relationships.
