Punjabi songs have often been seen remade in their remix or hindi version to feature in Bollywood movies. Punjabi singer Lakhwinder Wadali’s Rabb Manneya is the next addition to the list. Rabb Manneya made it to an Aamir Khan production film, Koi Jaane Na.
Though Bollywood has been often criticized for spoiling great Punjabi folk songs by re-making their remix or Hindi version, Rabb Manneya is an exception.
The singer expressed his joy through his instagram.
The original “Rabb Manneya” song belongs to the Great Wadali brothers. Lakhwinder’s father and uncle formed a sufi qawwali duo, Wadali brothers, that went on to gain worldwide respect for their sufi art.
Nobody could have done justice to the song but the blood of Wadalis. Lakhwinder has the Wadali aura in him and we get a glimpse of it in his latest song featured in Koi Jaane Na.
