Vandana Shah, while talking to Republic TV, said, ‘Absolutely not, there is no relationship between the two. Saira and AR Rahman have taken this decision themselves.’
Vandana also said that AR Rahman and Saira Banu have not yet reached any financial settlement. But this will be an ‘amicable’ split.
Saira Banu’s lawyer said that divorce was a painful decision for both of them. She said, ‘When a marriage ends, it is a painful decision. No one is happy when a marriage breaks. Divorce is not an occasion to celebrate. Saira had to face a lot of ups and downs in this marriage.’
Vandana also said that she is not at liberty to tell the real reason for the divorce. She said, ‘He has been a protective husband. She has been a good wife. I don’t need to speculate. I know the real reason, but I cannot discuss it. Both of them are committed to live a better life with or without each other.’ Let us tell you that AR Rahman and Saira got married in the year 1995. They have three children – Khatija, Rahima and Amin.
