Lekh Trailer Review: Gurnam & Tania’s Cute Little School Tale Has Much More To It Than We Expected

The trailer of Gurnam Bhullar and Tania starrer most awaited movie ‘Lekh’ has officially been released on Youtube. The teaser and little snippets from the film had already given us hints that it is going to be a cute school love story but the trailer has given us a deeper insight into the plot, and it is not all about school love.

For Tania, it doesn’t even feel like she’s playing a character. The innocence on her face is just like a 15 year old. Her character will specifically be a watch out for as she had lost many kilos to get into the perfect shape for this one. When an effort of that dedication goes into a role, you know it’s going to be special.

Both Tania and Gurnam being master performers, it seems as if they’ve reversed aging and actually become school going teenagers in the movie. Gurnam Bhullar has a clean shaven youngster’s look and he is completely lost in his character in Lekh. He too, just like his co-star, lost heavy chunks for this role. The film also features late actor Kaka Kautki in an important role. Just like always, his comic timing and dialogue delivery is again the highlight. Unfortunately, the actor is no more between us but Lekh will keep him alive on the screens.

If you are expecting Lekh to be just a casual school love story, you are wrong. Jagdeep Sidhu is a brilliant mind and he is sure to not let his plot be that limited. The trailer of Lekh takes us to the other part of the story this time. What felt like a beautiful love couple, have parted their ways in this half. Gurnam’s character has somehow fallen into a hopeless condition. What caused this dream-like love story turning Gurnam into a broken man, we’ll find out on 1 April in theaters.

Lekh also has a special connection to the cult classic, Mel Karade Rabba. The trailer too has many references of the Punjabi classic, which is just another reason that makes the audience curious about this movie. So, the brilliant acting performances, a strong and dedicated starcast, beautiful music album and Jagdeep’s excellent brain collectively makes Lekh a must watch. It will be released in theatres on 1 April, 2022.
