When Madhuri Dixit Was Asked To Remove Her Blouse For A Scene With Big B; Here’s What Happened

Tinu Anand is an actor-director who has done a lot of superhit films with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan such as ‘Kaalia’ and ‘Shahenshah’. Tinu had signed Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit for ‘Shanakht’ in 1989 where things went a little out of control and now has led to some controversy.

Tinu Anand was narrating an incident in an interview with Radio Nasha from the film where there was an argument between himself and Madhuri Dixit related to her costume, which almost led to Tinu firing her.

While narrating the incident he said that Amitabh’s character was tied in chains by the villain and stated “He is trying to protect Madhuri but gets overpowered by the goons. So Madhuri’s character says why are you attacking a man in chains when a woman is standing in front of you”.

He then recalled that he explained the whole scene to Madhuri before starting the shoot and said “I told her that you have to remove your blouse and for the first time, we should see you in your bra. And I am not going to hide anything behind a haystack or anything. Because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation and I want to shoot it on the first day. She said okay”.

He even asked Madhuri to design her own bra but it should not be anything other than that. When the shooting day came, Tinu and the crew waited for 45 minutes to start the shoot but Madhuri didn’t turn up.

He went in to check up on her and saw that Madhuri wasn’t even ready.

He remembers that he asked Madhuri that what was going on after which she refused to do the scene. Tinu then said  ‘I’m sorry, you have to do this scene’ to which she said ‘No, I don’t want to.’ After having this argument, Tinu said “Okay, pack up, say good bye to the film. I’ll cancel my shoot.”

After that Tinu recalls that Amitabh Bachchan came to pacify the situation and asked Tinu, why is he arguing with Madhuri if she has an objection with the film? Tinu then replied ‘If she had to object, she should have done it earlier, before signing the film’.

However after this Madhuri Dixit’s secretary assured Tinu that she would do the film.
