Just like every other year, the MET Gala is making headlines in 2022 as well. The international influencers, actors and other celebrities from the fashion and entertainment industry are making heads turn with their jaw-dropping looks in the event.
The grand event MET Gala is taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. But while we were busy adoring and praising the looks, outfits and jewelry pieces of the guests, something caught our attention. We saw influencer and Youtuber Emma Chamberlain walking the red carpet in a beautiful white and beige outfit, but when we noticed her choker, it looked kind of familiar to us.
And after performing some research and reading some source articles, we got to know that the diamond choker she was wearing was actually a piece of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh’s (son of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh) diamond necklace set.
The choker has a name of its own as well, and it is called The Maharaja of Patiala’s Cartier Diamond Choker.

As per The Royal Watcher, ‘The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala traveled to Paris in 1925, and got numerous trunks of precious stones: diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, pearls and rubies of the highest quality set in antique Indian settings, which he decided to have reset at Maison Cartier. The most spectacular jewel created from the commission was the 1928 Patiala Necklace, containing 2,930 diamonds, including the world’s seventh-largest diamond at the time, the 234.65 carat “De Beers”, the largest cushion-cut yellow diamond and the 2nd largest yellow faceted diamond in the world. There was also this Art Deco Diamond Chocker, which features massive Yellow Diamonds.’

Though Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was rarely seen wearing the choker, his son Yadavindra Singh was often photographed wearing the beautiful necklace set in the 30s and 40s.
Now YouTuber Emma Chamberlain was seen wearing the same choker in MET Gala 2022. She paired it with a Cartier Tiara. It belonged to the brand’s collection and is expected to be worn by someone again.
Emma undoubtedly looked really beautiful and elegant wearing the royal choker and made headlines.
