The Maharashtra Cyber Cell is preparing to issue a show-cause notice to Zomato’s ticketing platform after it sold tickets for Honey Singh’s concert without including the buyer’s name. An official confirmed that the tickets were sold without identifying the buyers, which has raised concerns about security and ticketing regulations.
Sources suggest that the Cyber Cell is investigating why tickets were sold without proper identification and whether this violates any rules. This move comes after reports of black-marketing during the British band Coldplay’s concert, which heightened scrutiny on ticket sales in India. Authorities are now exploring whether the absence of buyer information could pose security risks or contravene existing regulations.
Honey Singh, who is making a highly anticipated return to the stage after years away, has announced his ‘Millionaire India Tour,’ covering 10 cities across India. Scheduled to take place between February and March 2025, the tour is one of the biggest in Singh’s career. Tickets for the tour are available on Zomato and Insider.in, two platforms helping to make this event accessible to fans nationwide.
The Cyber Cell’s notice is expected to clarify whether Zomato’s ticketing process adheres to the necessary regulations and what steps need to be taken to ensure proper compliance moving forward.
