In a recent interview, Mallika opened up about her Bollywood journey and the way she made her international debut with Jackie Chan’s Chinese movie The Myth in 2005. While talking about the movie, she also revealed that Jackie showed her the tapes of other Bollywood actors who had auditioned for the film.

In a brand new interview with Mashable India, Mallika remembered the time when she auditioned for the Chinese movie The Myth. She said, “I got a role through an audition and I am very proud to say that he auditioned every actress in Bollywood. So, all these actresses jo chui mui bann ke kehti hai ‘hum ton kabhi audition nahi karti’ wo sab jhooth bol rahi hain (so all these actresses who said that they never went for the audition are lying). Jackie confirmed their audition tapes. I have seen their auditions. They loved me. They loved my health and body as I do a lot of yoga. I have a versatile physique.”
Mentioning about Jackie Chan, she said, “He is a wonderful man. Great guy and helpful. He is the one who opened doors for me in Hollywood. He actually supported me a lot. When I received Myth, I made a decision to do all the action for the movie though it was the worst decision of my life.”

Currently, Mallika is promoting her upcoming movie RK/RKay. This film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey, Manu Rishi Chadha, Chandrachior Rai, Abhijeet Deshpande, Abhishek Sharma, Grace Girdhar and Vaishali Malhara in key roles.
The movie has already been appreciated at several worldwide festivals. The film was released in theaters on 22 July.
